There's something about the treatment of Gideon by the Ninth House that reminds me of certain manga tropes. Gideon is endlessly forgiving, despite being thoroughly mistreated her whole life. I didn't find any justice that balanced out the forgiveness and it rubbed me the wrong way.

I wish we got more time with the other characters before they all died!

There's too many loose threads that weren't wrapped up in this book. I really wanted to see Gideon being cool but she really didn't get a chance to flourish.
I thought she would get another chance fighting the cavalier of the third but he "died". What was the point of them fueling in the first place then???

I quite liked the magic system since bones and skulls are very cool.

The narrator was very good, she had so many distinct voices.
