Great fantasy story with interesting characters, a fresh concept, and unique, vivid worldbuilding. Kai is a great MC, and I loved the dynamic between his past and present storylines. The book throws you straight into the world with not much exposition, but I found it easy enough to catch on and invested from the get go. The setting and concept is so creative and was really fun to get into. I wanted even more relationship building between the main crew, and maybe a bit more of the main romance, but in general I loved the characters and thought they had great development. Really looking forward to the rest of the series!
