adventurous emotional funny fast-paced

I can't believe we're at the end of the Alabasta Saga already! In this volume, the Strawhats are racing to save everyone from the bomb while Luffy aims to defeat Crocodile once and for all. I liked that we switched between the Strawhats and Luffy's fight with Crocodile, it definitely added a lot of suspense and helped everything come together. I loved seeing the aftermath of the fight as well, as Alabasta's finally trying to heal and Vivi's voice is heard at last. Vivi and her father host the Strawhats for the celebration she promised, but they pretend they have no idea where the pirates are! The ending of this volume was quite emotional because Vivi has to decide if she wants to join the Strawhats or stay in Alabasta to rebuild now that the rebellion is over.

I liked the scenes with the Marines as well, as Tashigi decided to follow her own moral compass, especially as she saw that the Strawhats were helping Alabasta. She captures Crocodile but breaks down in front of Smoker because she couldn't do much in the end. I like their mentor relationship and Smoker's tough love, he clearly cares for Tashigi despite his gruff personality and inspires her to become better. I love that Smoker's protesting the Navy trying to hail Tashigi and him as saviors. He might dislike pirates, but he won't take credit for something that he didn't do. It's hilarious that he tells his superiors to get lost, it's clear Smoker doesn't do well with authority.
