Overview: Book 3 in the Knockemout series follows Lucian Rollins and Sloane Walton. Lucian is a businessman who seeks to erase his father’s mark on his family name by building his own empire and gaining power and money, so he feels safe from the threat of his father. He is unstoppable and always gets what he wants – from everyone except a small, feisty librarian. Sloan is determined to find out what Lucian has done for her family even though they hate each other. Being close to each other after years apart has brought memories from high school that Lucian would rather leave in the past. Constant bickering leads to steamy tension that leads to a steamy one-night stand. While Sloan is ready for a family and kids, Lucian is determined to protect Sloane from his broken self. He would rather live a solitude life than risk following in his father’s foosteps. Leaving her, however, leaves her unprotected from other threats that are looking to cause Sloane harm. She’s already tried to give him another chance, but he continues to cut her out of his life and if he wants a third chance, he’s going to have to let go of the past.
Review: This one was probably my favorite in the series. I really loved Lucian’s character and this story was so fun to follow and see develop. The first book in the series was amazing and I loved the town and the characters that Lucy Score created. The second book was a little slower for me which made me hesitant for this third book, but this book did not disappoint. I love the banter between the two MCs. This book is more of a second/third chance romance and has flashbacks from their high school days and why the two characters are always at each other’s throats. Sloane was also a great FMC who was a perfect mix of bubbly and feisty. The characters were relatable and loving and it was a great end to the entire series.
