Role Playing
by Cathy Yardley
Personally a tough read for me thanks to life circumstances, but I was able to set that baggage aside and mostly enjoy this book.
I'm not usually a fan of miscommunication/misunderstanding, but it worked well here due to it being actually plausible. The romance was slow, but not quite a slow burn, and authentic in its awkwardness. Sadly that detracted from my enjoyment of those more tender scenes, but I was able to appreciate the character growth nonetheless.
Aiden and Maggie are wonderfully paired and read true to me (even if Maggie sometimes felt like she was on the cusp of being "not like other women", but if she really didn't want to have a romantic relationship, then we wouldn't have this book, now would we?)
A solid romance but not my favorite, I will absolutely give this author another try though!
