Caught Up
by Liz Tomforde
Thoughts: The first two books in this series were a breath of fresh air – they were so well-written and had me kicking my feet – giggling the whole time. Naturally, my hopes for this book were pretty damn high and of course Liz Tomforde held up to my expectation (probably even surpassed them). This might be my favourite book in the series so far. Kai and Miller’s chemistry is perfect and even though they’re both so different from one another, they fit together so well – helping one another grow in different ways – Kai with his constant support and thoughtfulness, and Miller helping Kai find the right balance in his life. I haven’t read many single-parent tropes (or anything where the protagonists have a little one) but every interaction that involved Max had my heart melting (and honestly, I think the more I read, the more I was looking forward to scenes that included Max). Also seeing how supportive Kai’s team was and how they all treated Max like their own was so fricken sweet (especially when Max took his first steps). Seeing all the previous characters making a consistent return throughout the book was nice to see because we get a glimpse of how their lives are going (like an extended epilogue of the first two books). Here’s to Kai and Miller (and Max) having every day be a good day from here on out.
