This book is a graphic novel. Alice Oseman is both the writer and illustrator of the book. The two main characters are Nick and Charlie. They are both students at a boys only English school. It is not a boarding school. Nick is in grade 11. Charlie is in grade 10. Charlie is gay. He came out around a year before the book starts. It wasn't fully by choice. He was initially bullied badly. Things have mostly settled down for him. Nick is a popular kid. He is a star player on the school rugby team. Charlie develops a crush on Nick. The story goes on from there. Oseman only uses 3 colors (green, black, and white) in the book. This color scheme works for this book. I enjoyed the book. I plan to read the remainder of the series (book 5 was just released).
Graphic: Toxic relationship
Moderate: Bullying and Homophobia
