Mira and Danaus now to to Venice to get help in their mission from Mira's rulers but the journey has been full of danger and enemy attacks. It is clear that everyone on the council has their own agenda and way of tackling the enemy so who can actually be trusted?
This book was a disappointing follow up. There were too many new characters being brought in, each with a plan for what they wanted Mira to do and all these interweaving plans, counter-plans and betrayals started to confuse me. I was having trouble remembering who wanted what and who was allies with who and who was betraying who-plus we still had the continuing fights with Mira and Danaus over their trust issues and lifestyles which has now gone beyond boring! More good action scenes but not enough to save the book. I have lost interest in the series now.
