I'll give it the mystery labeling only because there is a semblance of mystery surrounding Ashley's death. There was an overall atmosphere of something creepy and unknown.

The writing was entertaining, minus the excessive use of italics. I loved Nora as a character. I found myself writing down her quotes. Scott was kind of annoying. Hooper was just there.

The complexity of the human mind and resilience of the human spirit. The desire for terror. The desire for love. The desire for emotional experiences that rip you apart.
