(I don’t know if this review will make much sense- my husband and I are watching Castlevania. I’m very distracted. tl:dr: the book was great, incredible, fantastic and I love it but read the trigger warnings).

This has cemented Keri Lake as a insta-buy. I love the emotions she evokes and the scenes she paints with her writing. I LOVE her characters and I just always want more of them!!

This particular book is incredible! If you are interested in reading it please read the trigger warnings. There’s a few scenes of dark material that made my hate race (with fear). I was ok, but please, just be careful.

Anyway, back to the plot- I love the mystery and dark elements of this story! Coming from someone who knows very little about science/biology/pathology, the plot revolving around an illness and developing a cure/treatment and scientific research, was super interesting and I didn’t feel lost by it. I just let it take me along. I have know idea if there is any fact around the processes or experience are correct but I honestly don’t care- this is a fiction book.

I love the characters and the relationships between them. The different relationships between everyone was really fascinating to read about and I love the chemistry between the two mains. The age gap didn’t particularly bother me.

I really enjoyed this book and I know it’s a standalone I want more of these characters!!
