Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice by Adam Makos

3.0

I liked learning a little more about fighting the Korean War in this book - miserable, cold, and deadly. It was easy to root for Jesse Brown, one of America's first black pilots. I felt a little misled, as the jacket summary seemed to indicate this is a book about a really amazing rescue, because the "rescue" was only a minuscule part of the book, padded by other Marine experiences. Devotion was interesting and educational, though not as exciting as I expected. 3 stars.
