"Hades offers Persephone sanctuary in her land of the dead, so the young goddess may escape her Olympian destiny. But Persephone finds more than freedom in the underworld. She finds love, and herself. The Dark Wife is a YA novel, a lesbian revisionist retelling of the Persephone and Hades myth."

Wow, I really loved this retelling!! The differences in Hades character traits from the typical was so refreshing to read. I loved how caring and thoughtful she was. However the story was pretty slow and lacked a lot of plot. If the plot was just Persephone and her time in the underworld I think that would've been fine, it just seemed like the author tried to just barely squeeze in something complicated. I really wish we could've seen more power and action from the characters. I loved the visuals and ending of this book.
