I always have a hard time finding words to describe something I loved, like how can I summarize all the small moments of joy, tears, laughter and honestly utter delight this book provided me? How can I say in a few words that this book made me believe in love (romantic and platonic) all over again?

Poppy and Alex are two brilliant amazingly flawed and beautiful human beings, who deserve each other like no other fictional couple. The way they are constantly there for each other and constantly expressing their love in small and big acts of service and just how utterly supportive and caring they are of each other made me feel envious, giddy and happy that I had found such a perfect love story.

Emily Henry just solidified herself as one of my favorite writers with this one, despite not loving Beach Read and really liking Book Lovers I can proudly say I love People We Meet on Vacation with all my heart (if that wasn't obvious), in fact after reading this one I think I might go back and re-read Book Lovers, I think I'll have new appreciation for it after reading this one, since it seems like a more straight-forward mature romance whilst this one was filled with pining and very focused on the two main characters, which I wasn't mad about one bit.

As someone who truly values platonic friendships because that's basically all I want from anyone, I still was able to get on board with Poppy and Alex's friends-to-lovers narrative, for one, this is fiction and I can separate that. But also I absolutely believe that a home can be someone, that there is out there someone (whether they love you romantically or not) that can be fully your person and you can be theirs and you two can share a life and joke around and love each other despite and because of your many flaws, and I am an absolute sucker for any book who shows this kind of relationship in a compelling realistic way and with all the care that I know Emily Henry to have.

So with all my tears of happiness and little shrieks of joy I can safely say this is the best contemporary romance novel I have ever read and for sure a favorite for life.
