Over fifteen years ago the experience of reading City of Saints and Madmen overturned my world - politely, but surely, with the fungal noise of a mushroom-door opening. It is so, so gratifying to see these books together in such a gorgeous volume, and to see the arc of Jeff VanderMeer's widening popularity. As the saying goes, I am here for it.
