A very interesting premise for a not so good plot twist. I saw it coming, but I kept reading because I was interested in the details of it. How did it work? But when revealed, nothing was explained and the reader just had to accept it. It left me feeling like it was supposed to be a metaphor, some sort of commentary on colonialism or classism. But it was presented in such a literal way, I wasn't sure it was supposed to be anything besides disturbing. Overall, an entertaining read but one that left me dissatisfied and wishing for a lot more.
