I am so tempted to give this 5 stars but feel like I should hold back one star just in case the books get even better (which I am sure they will) so I can dole out the remaining star then. In any event, this is definitely a five-star read. The writing, the characters, and the setting make this the best whodunit I have read in a long while. Weirdly, despite being centred around murder, there's this coziness and feeling of coming home that surrounds you when you read that you don't want to leave Three Pines. And of course, there's a plethora of food mentions that leave me salivating and in desperate need of a crisp buttered croissant.
