Sugar Falls: A Residential School Story by David A. Robertson
5.0
This is a quick read about one survivor's experience at a residential school. It's hard to read and imagine people treating children this way, but it's a part of our history that needs to be faced. I appreciated how the book introduced the topic as a high school project. Our kids need to know this history so they can make sure things like this never happen again. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read much about what residential schools did to Indigenous children, as it's a mild introduction, but don't stop there.
