Engrossing plot with steady pacing and a heck of a slow setup became a page turner once I got to part two of the book. Listening to the book alongside reading it was great especially when knowing a particular song was being sung and hearing Darrow's accent. The pacing slow start but picked up and held steady until the end. Darrow's development was one of conflict of what and who he called "friends "and all the morally ambiguous actions he has done to become a Gold.
It will be interesting to see what will happen in the next book in the series.
