A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages by Joni Rodgers, Kristin Chenoweth

adventurous emotional informative reflective medium-paced

3.0

What a delight to read. Kristin Chenoweth is funny and charismatic both on the page and as she read the book aloud.

I had NO idea that she and Aaron Sorkin had been an on-again/off again-relationship, probably in part because that was happening while I was in HS and college, but no matter. She ran the gamut of sharing her life from emotions while her mom battled cancer twice, to hilarious when she said that there was too much nature outside and preferred being in it surrounded by plexiglass.

I also loved that her parents didn't warp into stage parents. They wanted to support her in her activities without being forceful. She had the opportunity to have a childhood and pursue her dreams. I wish more parents were like that, versus the horror stories we hear constantly. In addition, her views on what makes a family is beautiful and I agree with it wholeheartedly. Blood isn't the only thing that makes a family, love does too.

It's been 15 years since this came out. I hope she writes another one soon.
