OMG. S. Massery is back in Sterling Falls and I’m completely OBSESSED. Nemesis had me on lockdown from page one. Artemis is fierce, flawed, and impossible not to root for. She’s tough as hell but deeply scarred, and watching her try to outrun the past while protecting the city she loves? Absolutely gripping. When that past comes roaring back to burn it all down, you feel every ounce of pain she’s carried and every bit of the fight she still has left.
There’s something magnetic about Artemis. She pulls you in and doesn’t let go. The tension between her and the three men orbiting her, Saint, Reese, and Kade, hit me in the chest. This is just book one, but the chemistry is already electric. Each of them brings something raw and real to the table, and none of their dynamics feel like filler. And the best part? I still don’t know who to trust, and that keeps the stakes high and the pages turning.
Massery’s writing doesn’t miss. It’s sharp and emotional without ever feeling heavy-handed, and the pacing is so tight I never once wanted to put it down. Those final chapters? Absolutely wrecked me. And that ending—someone come hold me.
I’ve read everything Massery’s released, and I even did a reread of the Sterling Falls series before diving into this book. You don’t have to read those books first, but I do think it adds depth to the experience. Either way, I’m all in. Book two cannot get here soon enough.
If you’re in the mood for a gritty, emotionally charged romance with off-the-charts character dynamics and a heroine worth bleeding for, Nemesis needs to be on your TBR.
