This is the second in a trilogy & the conceit is so dang fun. The author takes his real-life life - family, hometown, first-person narrative - and inserts it into a fictional crime story. I'm envious I didn't think of this first. The mystery itself is a liiiiitle far-fetched and I'm not sure it totally works (it starts to drag) but the framing is such a page turner that I can't wait for the third.
