How is this a debut novel!!! I devoured this dark romantic fantasy in less than a day. Let's start with the absolutely gorgeous cover and map! Im always sold with a good map!
Mika is all my fav things in a FMC - hilarious, dark, twisty, a little broken, and fierce as all hell. Sunyanile is a dark world where folks with powers are sold and essentially slaves, Mika the silent assassin is sold and her life begins. There is mystery, found family, tension, and all the twists. I absolutely loved all the side characters and the parts they play in Mika's growth. The characterizations are so gooood! There are some amazingly hilarious lines, and the banter is perfection. One of my fav lines that sold me early on "who would of thought buying underwear would turn out to be such a fun excursion"
Ugh my heart absolutely broke during this book and you will know when. Dark themes throughout this book and check your triggers. So much left to discover in this world and I cannot wait!
