Detective Comics (1937-2011) #644 by Chuck Dixon

3.0

This marks a new writer jumping onto Detective comic, with Chuck Dixon taking the reins, and it is a breath of fresh air, delivering a more streamlined and accessible story. Dixon dials back the heavy text, giving the issue a lighter, more dynamic feel reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons. The villains, two electric-themed characters, come across as a bit silly, one even resembling a Daredevil knockoff (Seriously looks like Daredevil from Wish), but they don’t detract from the overall fun of the comic. Batman and Robin’s banter is sharp and engaging, adding personality to their dynamic. The art is solid, complementing the lively tone. While the villains may not be the most memorable, the issue's energy and character interactions make it an enjoyable read.
