In this novel, Lucy is a junior in college and engaged to soon to be mega famous quarterback Jude. I will admit, I totally felt annoyed when I found out Lucy was engaged already. I felt that her dreams of dancing all over the world were just dreams. It is hard to see if she is really a good dancer as she only dances sometimes. She could be doing dance as a hobby for all that mattered. I found no proof that dancing was her life.

The main issue is Jude going away to train. They obviously have the type of relationship were they can't be apart from one another for more than a day. I did not like how they made out in public without a care for who was watching. Also, it seems these books always has a female who is so attractive to guys that the male gets protective and ridiculous. I mean seriously, does Lucy look like a porn star or something? So what if guys look at her? It doesn't mean they are going to jerk off thinking of her at night Jude! He had his temper but I could see he wanted to make Lucy happy. Lucy is very worried about becoming too wealthy and it becomes an issue between Jude and her. I think she was right in not needing money to be happy but she was really crazy sometimes. I did not get why Jude kept pestering Lucy to marry him, she needs time to do what she wants not be forced into the decision!
SpoilerIt's not like she felt vastly different after marrying him, in fact she felt no change
Like Anton said, they are unhealthy, jerk he may be but he is right.

What I was surprised by was how much sex there was in this book and not just sex, kinky phone sex argh I was cringing while reading it!!!!! Yeah their schedules really suck being across the country and all but still! They are so inconsiderate in that they are so into each other that they make others feel uncomfortable by practically mauling each other in front of their friends.

At least something realistic came out of all the crazy sex this! The good old "I am pregnant" situation as a result of lots of being between the sheets and no responsibility! I have to say Lucy was right in being freaked out, she isn't even married but in reference to her new found friend Sybill, who is the wife of one of Jude's team mates. It is obvious being pregnant before marriage is very common and a convenient situation whereby having a filthy rich guy by your side magically takes care of that. In the real world, there usually is no guy...I feel sad that this book shows characters that are so irresponsible and give a bad image to college students. They might be kind and sweet as the author made them out to be but they are terrible role models.

On the other hand, this is the perfect story with the semi realistic "perfect ending". It is easy to see how readers would love this absolutely unrealistic take on a steamy romance. I really enjoyed this book, it had drama, stubborn love interests and laid out the difficulties of a long distance relationship but as I finished it and thought back, it was not that great at all. Lucy wanted to gain independence and equality and I can respect that but sometimes, I really want to slap her. Jude may have his flaws but I do not buy the talented football star thing.

I actually read the first book and skipped to the last, I was not able to read the second one but I hope to go back to it. The difference between Lucy then and now is vast. In book 1 they seemed young but now they seem so different when it has not been many years since then really. This book had a new adult feel. I don't really like how quick the author jumped from YA to NA but her writing was good and enjoyable when you did not think too much about it because if you did you would throw the book across the room and scream. It is another one of those books you hate to love.
