Batman: Three Jokers #2 by Geoff Johns

The Comedian this issue: I dream of Jeannie

The Comedian hallucinating about having dinner with his family was kind of sad to me. Deep down inside this (particular) fucked up clown, it's possible there is a wisp of the man he used to be somewhere in there. Though even in his fantasies he imagines his family is terrified of him. Jeannie's forced smile and his son wanting to run away give off hostage vibes. All of this is of his own making in his imagination. This is also taking into account if his family was ever real in the first place. "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another..."

Was that his old house? So he's sitting in his old house, daydreaming about eating dinner with his dead family when in reality he's eating cat food by himself. He looks so happy until Criminal Joker breaks the illusion. That is so fucking sad on so many levels. I almost want to hug him but then I remember all the terrible things he's done and that he's not exactly a hug-receptive type of guy.

The shot of Barbara's room with Jason looking at her schedules and therapy books was perfect. That page said so much without any dialogue. Like I saw somebody say, you can't help falling in love with her strength after seeing that. That's how you do that shit.

Barbara tells Jason she wished she had been there for him and he says that no one had ever said that to him before with tears in his eyes... my heart dude. He then tells her he thought nobody cared about him. I care, Jason. I fucking love you, dude. God, I just want him to be happy.

I appreciated the kiss between Barbara and Jason. Thank you for that, Geoff. I'll cherish that for the rest of my life. Nobody else wanted that but me.

I just want to compliment Jason's artwork for the millionth time. I love how everyone/everything is drawn. Batman is actually imposing. Barbara is so pretty, Jason is handsome as fuck. Fabok's Joker designs are the best I've ever seen, ever. You've ruined comics for me, Jason Fabok. Nothing will ever compare to you now.

Unfortunately, I can only give this five stars. If I could, I would rain stars down upon you and drown you in them, Geoff. You too, Mr. Fabok and Mr. Anderson. Take all of my fucking stars, you beautiful bastards.

I cannot predict what will happen in the last issue. Somebody is going to become the Joker because that's what this is all about right? "To make a better Joker." We will see.

An interesting thing I saw someone point out. If you put Criminal Joker and Joe Chill side by side they look very similar.

Fun Fact: The two thugs Jason beats the shit out of look exactly like the two dudes Batman scares in the beginning of the 1989 Batman movie. "What are you?" brings him right up to his fucking face "I'm Batman."
