Heart of Evil by Heather Graham

4.0

I gave this four stars because it was entertaining and interesting.

I liked the premise, although the detailed description of the re-enactment was, admittedly, a little boring and honestly I've never understood the mania with Civil War re-enactments anyway.

I like Jake as a character, although I felt Phantom Evil did more of a good job giving each team member 'page' time than did this second one. Angela was just plain annoying, to be perfectly honest. While her reason for leaving Jake in the first place may have been understandable, I felt that the execution of her character made the excuse seem flimsy and her constant running around in her nightgown was a little melodramatic for my taste.

However, it was still a pretty fun read. If anyone is reading the series I'd stick with it, because I already started the third book and it seems Graham got her stride back pretty quickly in that one.

Not bad, entertaining, which is what I was looking for.
