If you are an existing fan of all things cyberpunk 2077, this book adds a list of new characters and events within night city. 

But if you are new to this fandom, specifically of the world of cyberpunk 2077, you may find yourself confused and needing to find definitions and more information of events outside of the book then within the story itself. 

This story specifically speaks to the video game and the animated series, rather than the cyberpunk genre as whole such as necromancer or snow crash.

Overall, existing fans may love this new install of a story and if you are looking for all things cyberpunk 2077 I will suggest this book to you.
