Daughters of Jubilation by Kara Lee Corthron

I felt completely enveloped in the world of this story. All characters felt complex and contextually realistic. The voice of the main character showed that liminal space teenagers sit in where they are maturing but also have the reactions of a child. Thematically this book is hard to read but its worth the emotional buy-in and the author handles the content with sensitivity and care. The book deserves far more love than it’s receiving.
