This is such a great biography of an extremely important human, who I knew next to nothing about before listening to this book. It’s clear that the author Andrea Warner has a great relationship with Sainte-Marie, which lends some depth and familiarity to the narrative, and there is so much incredible interview material. I felt like I got a sense of Sainte-Marie’s vibrant character. She is funny, optimistic, and also angry as hell, and I love love love that this book so deftly shows how all of those facets of a person can coexist and feed each other. Sainte-Marie continues to be a dedicated activist and curiosity-driven artist. I loved hearing about her and will now be listening to her music on repeat. Highly recommend!
