This was exactly 1/3rd of a very good book and 2/3rds a Kardashian soap opera. We follow 3 different characters over the course of a few days with a little back story thrown in for good measure. The first character is 'The Doorman' or Chicky, a Hispanic Iraq veteran just trying to keep his head above water and make it through the weekend alive. The other two characters are rich, white, affable cardboard cutouts who live in the building Chicky works at and are currently involved in a steamy affair. Things get crazy and all three characters will be inextricably and forever connected through good and bad choices and actions. Not a bad book and if it would have actually been about the The Doorman's life like the title promised it could have been a very good book.
