Barrayar by Lois McMaster Bujold
4.0

A much more consistent book than its chronological predecessor [b:Shards of Honor|531792|Shards of Honor (Vorkosigan Saga #1)|Lois McMaster Bujold|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388212776l/531792._SY75_.jpg|9673658], which makes sense since it was written years later. I appreciated the focus on overcoming disability and trauma. Bothari, Kou, and Drou manage to steal many of the best parts, even if the latter pair do end up in some silly romantic comedy situations. I do wish Cordelia's homesickness was handled better. It seems very sporadic and lacks the specific memories that I found I longed for when I lived abroad. Well, next up is where all the people who love Bujold's work say to start!
