天官赐福 [Tiān Guān Cì Fú] by 墨香铜臭, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
5.0
I'm literally so deeply in love with the two main characters. They invented love. They did.
I just don't know how to put into words what I'm feeling. This is my first Chinese novel of this genre. It was a completely new experience and it was fascinating to see all these new tropes and established rules of this world that are super clear to readers of this genre. I learned so many new things in a way. It had good sides but also some that kind of lost me, the whole final fight that felt like tokusatsu scene for example.
But what can beat a love story that spans over 800 years, love that is so selfless and accepts every single part about each other. Xie Lian is such a delight and such an unreliable narrator. San Lang is just so dreamy. How come I don't get to have my own demon king that waits for me for 800 years or a scrap collector god that can't believe someone would know everything about his past sins and still love him. Real life is truly unfair.
