Dragos Goes to Washington by Thea Harrison
4.0
I received a free copy of this novella from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Three and a half stars.
I love the Elder Races series and the way in which Thea Harrison brings different creatures to the table - everyone else is doing weres and vampires - she has Djinn, elves, unicorns et al.
This novella goes back to the original couple, Dragos, Lord Cuelebre (a dragon) and head of the Wyr and his spouse Pia. They go to Washington to meet the President and attend a meeting of all the Elder Races leaders together with the human leaders to discuss the escalating violence within the Elder Races.
Dragos and Pia have also decided to try for another child - but things aren't going well. Pia is unwell and some of the humans are hostile to the Elder Races.
This novella was just the right length for me - some are too short but this had good story development. I also like a series in which a couple can be (very) happily married and still be romantic and sexy.
Absolutely recommended for fans of the Elder Races (naturally) but also for those who are unsure about whether to read these books - I think it could be read and enjoyed by a newbie and it would give them a taste of the series.
