zjames 's review for:
Dolores Claiborne
by Stephen King
I didn't really end up feeling a whole lot about this book either way. I started off hating its slow, nothing-happening plot and its constant potty humor. Things finally ramped up in the second half and got interesting, then it was over.
The main character was...unfortunately kind of annoying? I know that was sort of the point, but I didn't really care if she got caught or not. Also, I know this was supposed to be a kind of companion novel to Gerald's Game, but King really overdoes it with certain plot points that I won't give away because of spoilers. Let's just say it seems like he hit a bit of a creativity slump at this point in his career because certain scenes in this novel are copied and pasted to and from other books of his.
