To the Lighthouse
by Virginia Woolf
3.5/5 stars.
When I read Virginia Woolf I think I'm always going to be looking for what I felt when reading Mrs Dalloway, which I guess is unfair to the book in question, but I can't help it. Beautifully written, almost contemporary in the way the story is structured, but not a story I found myself invested in. With a big cast of characters, I found myself mixing them up and not always sure of who was currently narrating. There's no doubt Virginia Woolf is one of our greatest writers, but I reckon we can't all adore each and every book she wrote and that's okay.
