My only regret is that I didn't get to this one when it came out last year! I honestly can't think of any other YA books that feature mariachi music in this way, and I am here for it. Jonny Garza Villa also tackles grief in such a realistic way, showing both the good and the bad sides to it. Rafie doesn't always make the best decisions, but that's what makes him such a relatable character.
Jonny Garza Villa is definitely one to keep an eye in the YA space because so far, for me, all of their books have been a hit!
