Something about the 2011 Tsunami really stuck with me. In reality, I don’t know why. I’ve seen so many horrors in the world, but this specific event was just ingrained in my memory and I’ve always just hyper fixated on the horrors of it. So when I heard this book involved this event, I really wanted to read it. 

This book is an exploration of life and love after grief. It languidly tells the store of Yui who lost loved ones in the Tsunami. The problem is the pacing throughout the entire novel was the same. I suppose similar to how Yui is described, quiet and melancholic. 

It’s meant to leave the reader hopefully, but by the end I was just glad I finished the book. 

This one wasn’t for me.
