I was trying to explain to my partner why I liked this book so much.
To be honest, I knew exactly where the story was going and I figured out fairly early on how the book was going to end. But I didn't care! I still loved it.
I'm not one for paranormal romance, not since I was in my teens and obsessed with books about vampires and fairies. But Ashley Poston wrote and developed her characters so well I forgot this was a genre I'm not accustomed to reading.
From the very subtle My Favorite Murder reference (YAS) to the casual inclusion of a non-binary character The Dead Romantics was heartbreaking, wholesome, and delightfully modern.
