The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

ALL THE STARS DEAR GOD

this is a thought dump because I’m far too buzzed from sheer, ludicrous joy to even form a proper sentence but

the banter was top notch, like I’ve been cackling like a f*ing gremlin for the last three hours because of the banter and the humor. This is exactly how i want my heroines to talk—just ever bit slightly unhinged and completely out of pocket. I love sweet heroines, really, i do, but i love lucy so much because she isn’t little miss perfect. She’s weird. She’s an acquired taste. She’s kind of annoying in a very cute way.

And hate flirting is my favorite kind of flirting because being mean is the best way i know how to flirt. So bias there, maybe, but i can totally admit to pulling a quip or two out of my ass when i like someone.

Also, she’s small. We’re the same height. It’s comforting to know small is 5 foot and not 5”5, because i get genuinely appalled when they say the heroine’s short and she’s like, idk, 5”3. I’d kill for three more inches. I wear heels everyday because of it. We are finally represented, shortcake be damned.

Yeah, this is just a super well written trashy little romcom that i will undeniably end up rereading in a few months time. I now get why it was made into a movie—one I’ll obviously be watching. I love elevator scenes.

Banter is unparalleled. I love the chemistry. I just felt good, ya know? And light and happy. Sometimes that’s the only marker that matters when it comes to romance.

I have no notes. I just really love this BYE
