Furiously Happy: A Funny Book about Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson
4.0
This book is really good, in that it deals with serious mental health issues, and is also very funny. How in the world, I'm not sure. It might be magic. A special kind of magic, as I've recommended this book to three people in the last two days, and will keep in on tap for others I encounter. You can't understand depression unless you've felt depression, but Lawson describes it in a way that is at least somewhat relatable to all the well meaning folks who tell her to cheer up already.
This book deserves a better review than I am giving it. But I found out today that I have Influenza A, and I'm exhausted. I just logged off from working from home for the last 10 hours. But, I'm super stressed out that I had this in my "currently reading" tab when really I had finished it on Saturday (the first day that I had a flu symptoms), so my own crazy compulsions about my Goodreads lists is taking over. I think that Ms. Lawson would understand and give me a pass. If she doesn't maybe I could find some inspired taxidermy to send her as a peace offering.
