M Is for Magic
by Neil Gaiman
I admit I skimmed a review where someone complained this collection isn't for kids. It doesn't claim to be for kids. It does claim to be a YA collection & that isn't the same thing as kids. There were some other complaints including the length of the introduction & that the stories included appeared in other books first. All I can say to that is if that person had read the introduction they wouldn't have been surprised at the lack of original content. But it's been years since I've read Smoke & Mirrors and Instructions so I decided to listen anyway. Plus I really do love How to Talk to Girls at Parties.
For my review I tired to review these 1 by 1. But it got repetitive and boring to write. Other than the first story, the weird mashup of noir and Mother Goose, I really like all of the stories picked for the collection. My favorites being Sunbird, Instructions and Chivalry. And of course How To Talk To Girls At Parties too.
As far as the audiobook goes I love Gaiman's narration but the musical interludes are too loud and remind me of elevator music in the worst way possible.
