New Town by Zakary L. Skiver, Zakary L. Skiver

5.0

If it’s got a werewolf or werewolf-like creature on the cover I am instantly going to read it. So it’s safe to say I did pick this up for the cover and blurb but I am so glad I did. I loved everything about New Town. So much so that before I even finished it I preordered it. The characters are really fun and I actually liked that Brady isn’t the type of ‘hero’ who never gets hurt. But equally all the characters are fantastic.

As I already stated I’m a werewolf girl. If it’s got werewolves in, mentioned or near it I will read it. The creature in this is fantastic, it’s beastly and wolf like in the sense that it doesn’t care who it hurts. So you can expect a lot of gore and violence which is another thing I loved with how well it was done. It’s so nice to see werewolves being werewolves for a change.

It's got a lot of suspense and mystery as well so it’s not all horror or supernatural. For me this was a perfect book. It had great writing, complex and interesting characters and an enjoyable story. I really hope we see these characters again in the future and Skiver does more urban fantasy/horror in the future.

As always thank you to Booksirens and the author for the copy to review. My review is always honest and truthful
