what's with me gravitating towards books that lay bare my deepest darkest fears in 2021 h a l p.

this is a story about a botched robbery & the chaos that ensues when things go awfully wrong, but it's also a story of how human beings, regardless of background, are fundamentally idiotic. related so strongly to the characters' anxiety regarding adulthood and the responsibilities that come with it.

overall tone of the book is somber, with a sprinkle of humour and suspense. plot twists were completely unexpected. there was also commentary on capitalism, the economy environment and social media, which i enjoyed.
