A Court of Silver Flames @therealsjmaas

Let me get this unpopular opinion out first. I don't like Nesta and this was my least favorite in the series.

Now please let me explain.

On my first read, I loved this book. While I typically enjoy stories of deep trauma and healing, this wasn't my cup of tea. Nesta, for me, was too whiny, spoiled and a person I just can't stand. Sure the ending, bonding with the Valkyrie's and her relationship with Cassasin were huge highlights. Her personality rubs me the wrong way.

This book also had waaaayyy to much going on. Nestas's story would have been better separate from the Court of Dreams and thr Trove hunt. Also the fact we don't get a peak into Rhy's mind during the pregnancy is criminal. It would have hit so much harder of we had just a few moments in his head.

I understand why people like this book. I really really do and it's not a bad book. It's just not what I wanted. There are great moments and great new characters. The plots are great too! Just not together. I would get invested in one story only for the next chapter to switch to the other.

If you like this book please don't take it personal. If you think I'm crazy, I totally understand. Just please be kind. We are all entitled to our opinions. I still like this book. It's just not my cup of tea.
