I originally rated this book hire, but I just think it is because it is so different from anything I've read in a while. I truly enjoy this authors Camel Club series, But this book just was not on the same level. John Polar, Is an army investigator, sent to West Virginia to investigate the murder of an army officer. He ends up in a very small coal Town and is helped out by the local chief of police with his investigation. This book was very good through the first half, then somewhere in the middle it just got all kinds of crazy, things happen, but I just can't imagine happening, especially if these are the only people trying to figure this all out. I will definitely read the next book in the series, I already have them, I enjoy this author, and the narration was absolutely spot on.
