With every story I read, Lesley Camphouse’s talent keeps confirming itself and if Lesley writes it, I read it!
I was a DND player in my university years and the background of this story made me so nostalgic, although my group was much nicer than Gemma’s.
As for Gemma, I felt for her so much and although I kept yelling at her, I also saw myself in her as a people pleaser, and I can’t say my behaviour would have been much different.
Until of course, she decides to switch up the game a little and have some fun herself!
What comes after is a night to remember for Gemma and her group and so satisfactory to read! And as the story itself wasn’t enough, the author gives us such an ending!
I loved every bit of this book and not only I felt emotionally connected to Gemma, it was kind of a cathartic experience, but one I hope I won’t have to live for myself.
If you enjoy a bloody ride meant not just to shock but to convey a message, then Lesley Camphouse delivers it!
Thanks to the author for a copy and this is my honest opinion.
