After Rain Falls by CE Ricci
5.0

After Rain Falls is book 2 from the River of Rain Duet by CE Ricci. As this is a duet, you need to first read book 1 (Follow the River) if you don't want to be absolutely confused.

When I started book 2, I was so relieved that it picked up right where we left off in FTR, and not months later. I was still shaken by book 1 but I wanted for River and Rain to get their HEA sooooo bad, I didn't want to wait.

The first half of this book, I was in a constant state of pain and frustration. I wanted them to SAY THE WORDS but.... stubborn men they were... and they made me wait, and wait... SO MANY FEELINGS. Anticipation, amusement, sadness, more pain, joy.... CE Ricci is a master at putting emotions on paper. I found myself rereading many paragraphs over and over just because her writing is impeccably beautiful and I felt compelled to take it all in multiple times. I was speechless.

One thing I absolutely adored about this book is since CE knows her characters perfectly, she makes links between what they said in book 1 and situations happening in book 2. Links that I would never have thought about! And that was just perfect, as I loved when a certain phrase in a book reminded me of a particular feeling I was having when I read it in FTR. It was absolute perfection.

Let's talk about the most wonderful couple that is Rivain. The magnetism between the two could not be ignored. I mean the pull each has on the other makes it so hard to accept when they push back. The intimacy they share is out of this world. I have rarely read steam that carries that much emotion. Hot hot hot. Allllll the touching makes me swwwwoooooon.

I will be reading the Rivain novella because I NEED IT MORE OF RIVAIN IN MY LIFE. And for those who have read the book, I'm not even mad about the "other man". I actually can't wait to read his HEA.

I will miss these characters. But I feel blessed to have been able to read about their journey. This is a five star and a must read.
