Final Girls by Riley Sager

5.0

I am passionate about thrillers and detective stories. What disappoints readers like me the most - obvious killer. This books gets Oscar for the opposite! Felt like Sherlock up to the final scene.
Many horror stories have a happy ending - one survivor. Sager have put a tag on these survivors - final girls. They made it through the worse. Everyone around them imagine them to be strong as hell but actually they are broken forever by the events that happened to their friends. They have physical and spiritual scars that open up when one of the girls die and other two meet (do they?).
Crippled life is hidden behind baking cupcakes, drinking wine and xanax, living with people who pretend that everything is "O.K.". No it isn't. And is so well isn't that book will take you like tsunami from a cupcake to Hitchcock.
Not recommended reading before bed...
