Greek Lessons
by Han Kang
Impossible to add a star rating - this novel was very esoteric and felt like walking through someone's dream-world or meditation.
My favorite part was her use of characters to explore the sensory world - how our five senses determine our reality, and questions of what may be beyond that reality. What is the point of being alive, if one is meant to suffer and die? What is life like when your five senses are altered or erased?
That said, the meandering thoughts and pain of the characters was a lot to be immersed within for a novel - especially the woman who could no longer speak. I struggled to get through it, and was relieved to finish it.
