The Stand
by Stephen King
Definitely a long one, and I wonder if I would have enjoyed the shorter version because the very beginning definitely dragged for me, especially in a post COVID-19 world.
A very wide cast of characters that were very nicely fleshed out and felt distinctly unique. The overall pacing was fairly good, aside from the slow start.
It was a little more mystical than I expected it to be, still not quite sure about that. Some points definitely felt a little too convenient and predestined.
